Sock Monkey!

How Adorable - Sock Monkey

I am in shock.....

Yesterday my son, the fussiest eater on the planet informed me that he now liked "little trees" (little trees being broccolli, I am sure every mother knows this)!! This left me in shock, especially more so tonight when he asked for "little trees" for dinner again!

Whatever next....carrots?

Well done Joseph, Mummy is proud!

Matilda in her usual style wolfed down the broccolli which also left me happy, as it was the first time she has tried it (only 5 months old)! I reckon my little lady is going to be one chubby girl, she does enjoy her food!

Overall, today I am one happy Mummy!

Shabby Chic store Santa Monica

My Idea!

Okay so I love photography and shabby chic things, especially shops that sell shabby chic things!  I could browse for hours, I just wish i had a bigger house so I could buy more! Not that the hubby would be impressed.  Well my idea whilst I am on maternity leave is to ask the proprietors of said shops if I can photograph them for my blog and write about the items they sell.  So not only fulfilling my love of photography and shabby chic style, but also helping them by advertising them in a blog stylee way! So what do you think? Is this passable? Do you think shops would be happy for me to do this?  Well only one way to find out I suppose and this is to get in contact.  So today I will be investigating and emailing the shops I love that are local, then if that is successful maybe I could spread my wings a little further and travel :-)
Also today I will be going to get my Phoebe-Boo cuddle fix (my best friends baby, only 4 days old, nothing like cuddling a newborn baby).
Happy Wednesday Everyone

Wonderful Website of the Week

http://www.susiewatsondesigns.co.uk/

My mum sent me a few shabby chic postcards today, which were advertising boutique shops.    One in particular caught my eye Susie Watson Designs! Her website is full of beautiful shabby chic items, oh how I wish I had a big big house, and lots of money!
Be sure to check out the website, oh and have your bank card at the ready....

What A Saturday...actually what a week!

Hi All, I haven't updated for a while as been extremely busy, mainly trying to make my best friend go into labour....but that is one stubborn little bubba in there! He/She is not having it! :-) don't blame baby really, it's just too cold out here!
Today I have been run off my feet helping my sister move house.  I think moving house has quite possibly got to be the worst job in the world, and I should know having done it at least 20 times in my life (no lie), and I am still not settled, there is another house waiting for me in the near future hopefully!
So whilst my aunt had my lovely kiddies, the hubby and I have been lugging boxes, beds, wardrobes, toys, clothes and settees from one house to another.  So I am truly shattered....TAKEAWAY is calling! Although I now have to wait for the hubby to get back from a work callout!!

DON'T YOU JUST WISH IT WAS THIS EASY!

Ohhhh what a lovely day for sledging

Snowy Saturday

Hi All,

Well this snow malarky isn't getting any better is it?! Had another mini blizzard this morning, just to cover the footprints we made yesterday.  However, as much as it might be crippling the country, doesn't it make everything look picturesque.  After spending 2 hours sledging with my four year old yesterday today is a day for taking photographs of the white stuff! I am going to venture out with my preggas best friend who still hasn't dropped her bundle of joy (he/she is thinking its too cold out here), although i do have a funny feeling he/she might be here this weekend! We are heading to the beautiful Old Leigh so should get some lovely photos of the snow and the beach.  Then later today I think I will crack on with making some bits and bobs.

Oh yes has everybody noticed that This Morning currently have a make it yourself "shabby chic" feature in the show at the moment....it's great!

Worth checking out!

Enjoy the weather, stay safe :-) x

Today...

Well was really hoping all my website orders would have come today, but guess what, not one arrived! I am awaiting my fish-eye lens which I got for a bargain price on Ebay. Also my new fabrics, buttons and pinking scissors! Boo...hope it all comes tomorrow, as I have a sewing machine lesson booked with my Nan at 11am!!! Woop Woop. Cannot wait, hoping Nan can remember enough to get me started...I want to get cracking with my designs.
So many blogs that have given me inspiration, I can't get off the computer!
Today however I did remove myself from the laptop...for a while :-)  First day back at school for my little boy, then I went and got the tyres serviced on the car....they needed it, bordering on illegal side and all!!!
Then off to Lakeside shopping with my best bud Donna and her humungous BUMP! Only 10 days to go, although I still think bubba will be 2 days late :-) I have a design for a babygrow i want to do for bubby and cannot wait to start it! I tried driving fast over speed bumps today, but that didnt help...probably didnt help my car much either!  Have my fingers crossed that the hot curry and pineapple will help her tonight!

Anyway my lovelies, have a fabulous evening....I am off to watch Big Bro (saddo), I really want Vinnie to win, i lurrvvve him!!

ooohhh and i found these lovely bits and bobs that i want......slap my wrist....i need to stop looking!! I want the bib set for my best friend....she loves DwellStudio stuff :-)

I got bored....

...so quickly did this, literally took about 3 minutes!!! Used an old Ikea frame which had a random cartoon picture in it which was once in my 4 year old's room, took that out and replaced it with Laura Ashley wallpaper. Probably going to put it in Matilda's bedroom until I have finished her Russian Doll piccie.

Sewing!

Well I have decided to blow the cobwebs off the sewing machine and retrieve it from the spidery loft! I will then be teaching myself how to use it properly...hmmm this make take some time! I will definitely be going to see my Nan for her sewing machine wisdom, plus it was my Nan that gave me the machine, so she is the expert! I can't wait. Just wish hubby was not so poorly so could clamber into the loft now...since having Matilda I cannot lift myself up there :-( and it is full of all my crafty stuff!

Fabric I really really want....

all you rich people out there, this is what I would like.... available at Fabric Rehab!!

Christmas O.V.E.R!!

Well that's it for another year...thankfully! As much as I love christmas isn't it just lovely to get the tree down and have the house back to normal?? Bah Humbug to me hey!
Now I have it all away though, i can think straight, and think about what i want from 2010! Firstly now i am addicted to fabric and photography, I would very much like my hubby to finish the shed for me, so I can use it as my own little den :-) so some doors would be nice hubs, oh and some carpet, and a little heater :-) I can then concentrate on my lovely hobbies. Yes those who know me know I like to keep myself busy, I detest being bored and hate the thought of sitting around waiting for life to bite me on the backside. So not only do i have two lovely children to keep me occupied I also have two hobbies, fabric designs and my photography (I am no expert at either, but as they say...practice makes perfect).
Anyway now my house has been de-cluttered of all the christmas chintz it's time to move on, get creative and be happy!
I for one cannot wait :-)
Happy 2010 all!

I love this fabric website...

i have just discovered this fabulous fabric website and I am now moping around the house thinking of ways to make lots of money so that I can buy lots of their fabric...suggestions below please....

Matilda's new toy bag

I need to perfect the art of embroiding, not very good at all!

Bag - free with the Cath Kidston book "Make" - it comes plain so you can add your own motif. I added a doll in the style of a russian doll (well sort of). Then embroided my daughter's name on it.

Happy New Year!

Hello All,

Just a quick one to say Happy New Year. We celebrated by staying in and playing the Wii with our little boy Joseph and the hubby's mum & dad. A good time was had by all...if not a little achy the following morning from the amount of fitness endured from Wii sports!
Can safely say that was about the most exercise i did in 2009!
I can definitely say that 2009 was quite a good year for me and my little family. My son started school in September and in August we welcomed our little lady Matilda into the world, now our family is complete :-) and with 2010 being the year of the baby continued, with lots of friends and family due :-)...happy days!!! Lots of things to make now, I cannot wait!!

I hope 2010 is a good year for all of you too. x
